Rally falls shorts as junior high B team fall in opener to Trinity

The Cardinals boys junior high basketball B team fell behind early in its regular season opener against Trinity Classical Academy Tuesday, but it certainly didn’t go away.

Playing on the road at Church of the Nazarene, the boys staged a second-half rally that pulled the team within two points before Trinity pulled away, 33-23.

SCCS (0-1) got most of its offense from Tyler Vanderlinden and Billy Latch. Calvin Hoffman turned in a strong defensive effort.

The Cardinals travel to Pinecrest for a game today at 3:00 p.m.
